InFamous: Second Son
Just Updated
If Cole MacGrath were to return to the InFAMOUS Canon Storyline in a future sequel, how would you like to see him return?
1. The original Cole MacGrath being revived by the lightning bolt at the end of InFAMOUS 2
2. A clone of Cole MacGrath created by the First Sons (similar to the Force Unleashed 2)
3. Evil/Beast Cole travelling from an alternate universe/timeline and becoming the main antagonist.
Hello everyone. Ive been reading some articles on thiss site called Vsbattles wiki. Its a creative site where people list characters and their powers then hold debates of who would in a fight. Anyway, when I looked at all the characters from infamous, it said their powwer let them use something called Macro Quantum.
It was described as being the power to break apart, aabsorb and control ambient matter and energy. It was apparently how John White was able to reform himself and tamper with other people powers, but the concept got me thinking that this may be the SINGLE source of all the powers Conduits have.
For example, their enhanced strength and durability could be because of aassimilated molecules adding to their natural mass. Shapeshifting would be due to subconscious restructuring of their own molecules, being able to heal people would be due to them breaking their elements down at the molecular level then being transferred to the target and enemies being turned into smoke and neon is due to them being transmuted like turning a person into salt.
But what do you guys think?
If Infamous, or I like to believe when, since Sucker Punch works one game at a time, they should no longer be tied to realism of people gaining powers and trying to fit into society. Conduits should embrace their gift but the good know to hold back.
Delsin should star in at least one more game, improved, smarter, funnier and wiser, in his own ways. Larger scale activities should return, using grafitti, and art using his large pool of powers. Stronger, in of himself and his abilities, no "restart" like with Cole. He should have over 10 abilities, with just as much if not more variety of Conduits around, for famous and infamous. To balance this without taking this comment too far, the scale and range and variety of enemies must increase, underground, on land, on sea, and sky - maybe projects and experiments, remnants of old organizations, run amock for chaos, peace, or to be released.
Should be some time after freeing and gaining powers from Curdan Cay and others. In the game itself, some powers ar locked for the story / event purposes, like a Metroid game. Maybe two or so years, for Conduits to have settled and made peace with historical triumphs like Cole and Delsin.
Powers should be under the Second Son format, as telekinesis gets boring for me. Read Marvel Comics if you want that for this is Infamous. Second Son gave clarity, variety and uniqueness to a Conduits powers. There should be categories however, like ELEMENTS for Conduits like Cole, and UNIQUE for Delsin, to name a few. Yet these categories run on the same principle: Sources.
What does the community think? Should I tell more? What would you add to keep the Infamous train going? Can we even petition the idea as a motivator to Sucker Punch?
There's soo much potential here, it dare not be wasted nor forgotten.
Exactly what the title says.
For example a crossover between Chronicle and Infamous (both deal with the premise of "superpowers in the 21st century", has a reluctant hero as one of the protagonists -Matt Garetty for Chronicle and Cole MacGrath for Infamous-, and both show the consequences of how that kind of power would affect society.)
Athough the problem with this idea is that there's very few video games/movies/tv shows/comic books that have anything in common with Infamous.... :(
Anyone noticed how in the first inFAMOUS if you choose the evil ending you can't change your karma to good no matter how much you do (the black tar thing in front of your karma meter stops it), however if you choose to destroy the ray sphere (good ending) you can still turn evil. To me this is actually very dark, just think about what the game is saying here. Good men can always be corrupted and once corrupted can never go back. Wow that's dark. Whether you think the message is true or not doesn't matter, the fact that it merly suggests this is really dark and powerful - another reason why the first inFAMOUS is so great.
Okay, originally Mastermiine posted his thread to the inFAMOUS Wiki Forums, but something went wrong with the colors and it was unreadable. If he didn't plagiarize it, it looks like he put a lot of work into it, so I thought I'd help him out. Also, there is an important note at the end of the post. So below is Mastermiine's original work, and although it's long, this is what he wrote (below the line):
"Just a heads up, this will contain spoilers for all The main games, and the DLC. I am not going to use the black out bar as this whole post is one giant spoiler. If you have not yet finished the series I really recommend you play the series. Its a great series, and one of my favorites to this day. I call my self an inFAMOUS fan boy, and I'm proud. Also this just me typing. (Forgetting the expression) and will most likely have editing and grammatical mistakes. If that bothers you then by all means stop reading. Though, if you are an inFAMOUS fan boy like me, I suggest you read through, how long this may ever be and see where my opinions lie. I would love to have a dialog with you guys about this. One last disclaimer. Its been awhile since I played the games. I have been wanting to go back to it for a while, but with time, and other games... it just got pushed back so I am using my memory. Ok here we go.
So Second Son. The game that tried to pull itself from the first 2 (FOB cannon BTW?) . The developers wanted new players to also enjoy the experience so they tried to not bring up the events that happened with Cole, the beast, ect. Ok, so I wouldn't mind if it was written well.... But, it wasn't. We all know by interviews by the developers that "the Ray Sphere did not actually kill all conduits and some had actually survived". While that does take away from the Major impact of Cole's sacrifice maybe they got something up their sleeve. They retcon the impact. While annoyed by hearing that I trusted that the developers had something up there sleeve. Then more reports came about how conduits who where more faraway from the blast had survive, while others had not. This worries me. They where telling us this rather then having the game and its story tell us. Though I thought they just told us to shut us up. My Intuition was telling me "No this can't be, there has to be a reason why they survived." Then comes the game. Anti conduit Propaganda and the fear of being a conduit among many. Though explained in the game, I felt it wasn't explain to the full extent. Aug. (for short) wanted to control conduits and lock them up.
She showed people they were monsters and gained supporters. Even after what Cole did. (Yes a Hitler-esc) type of thing, but really. How could that propaganda spread so much, I wanted more back story into this--- but back on topic. Delusion gets powers. Not this cool Origin story like many others, but he got it naturally. Not some scientific way, or blast ect. But naturally awoke. "Ok well everyone is different, but how? I thought they where dead." Then we find out that Fetch, Hank, Eugene all just "awoke there powers". If the conduit gene should be gone and people with it should be dead, then how are these people "Naturally" awaking them. Its not some forced thing that happened through some secret agency. They just got it. Fuck I don't even think they even said the words "conduit gene". (Again haven't played in a year and a half). Excluding Coles legacy ( Ill get to that later). And thats it with the game. Its just Delsin Getting revenge on Aug. Now really science, si-fi or that mysterious vibe the 1st 2 games had.
What made the 1st games so great was that mystery behind it. "The 1st sons", "they ray spheres", all the many government organizations clashing together, a big explosion that destroyed the city, time travel ect. The 2nd game even carried over that lore. It still had that 1st son connection. The rayspher. The blast cores. The RFI. All these human made products. Thats what I loved about that concept. All this was human made shit, by people who try to play God and created Superhumans. Good and Evil. Its that old folk tail of the Frankenstein concept on why we don't play God. But everything was connect still. Kessler was mentioned through out the game, and in away was part of the plot. John came back. A second ray sphere came back, (I believe the 1st sons where mentioned also). All these science stuff was part of the plot. And it was really fascinating. The game really had that Humanity vibe. Even thought they had powers, they had humanity.... (Another runoff sorry)..... then comes the second son. I had high hopes.
"Second Son" Such a powerful title, with so many missed opportunities. We could have had a Rebirth of the First Son's. Hell, even the log "O" in son looked like a ray sphere. Fans constantly speculated that was going to be a plot point. But they missed it. No more of that government lore. No more of those organizations. Hell, I could care if they broke up the organizations. But There wasn't even any dialogs regarding what happened. Ok you can make the argument that non of the characters knew, but thats what a majority of the fans loved. (Can't speak for all.) I don't even they said Coles name once. (Excluding the DLC). They left out all this science fiction stuff that added to the mystery to the game. Im not saying for them to rinse and repeat. But at the same time not play it safe and not do anything.
Take a risk, if new players are confused, then that would give them the reason to play the original games. Then comes Augustine's origin. It is presumed that she got her powers from the beast, in the fight in new Marias but nothing was ever brought up. Non of it. No cole, no beast, no blast, no fight. Just "Hint hint wink wink" Biggest FU in my book. Now comes Cole's legacy. We get these bad ass background info, we find out that its possible that the plague had a mutation and gave people powers. Zee starting this pro-conduit group ext. Like really? I wish that was the plot of the game. That mutation fascinated me in a heartbeat. Though that was it. Nothing more. Thats all they left it. If the game had followed that plot I'm sure many people would have enjoyed the story more. But was restricted to that 1-2hour dlc. All because the developers wanted to keep it easy to understand for new players....
Now, Im not trying to criticize the developers, or be hateful about it. I love infamous, and I have major respect for the developers. Thought this my opinion of the game, and what left me disappointed about it I hope this wasn't to long for you guys to read, and I hope you guys read the whole thing. I apologize if I sounded redundant at some points. Please comment below of what you guys think.
P.S: Did the game ever go more into detail about that audio log where that person who got arrested form Delsin's village who warned he will come?"
Okay, now this is the end of what Mastermiine wrote, but WolfLord315 has blamed Jim Logan for blocking him because he thought he was a bot. Is this true? I don't know, but he's brought it up on Community Central, so you guys can guess. Happy posting, and check out some of my other work. Chris6d talk ? contribs 22:03, August 29, 2016 (UTC)
I was just over on the factions page and noticed that the Department of Unified Protection (DUP) has not been added to the page yet. If anyone has a minute and some decent editing skills I think it would be worth adding.
As some of you may already know, there is a site called Enjoy Your Power which lets you take a test to see what kind of Conduit you may be. I have taken the test and I had some pretty cool results. It turns out that I am a wire Conduit, but I have no idea how to even activate these powers, let alone what this power can even do. Anyone can share their results here and even discuss how your powers may become available for you to use.
In the meantime, here is a screenshot of my test results to get things started.Kessler used the power in the first game just imagine throwing a knife at some one then teleportation out of nowhere then....BAM! Never saw it coming just my opinion.
I have an idea for a Concrete Karma Bomb. Delsin hits the ground with Concrete-covered fists, a mini-earthquake starts, a bunch of concrete protrusions erupt out of the ground, and either all the enemies (Good) or everyone (Evil) is suddenly encased in concrete, which then shatters in a series of concrete explosions. Thoughts?
there is a page called the future of INFAMOUS: what's next sense there is no longer room for replies on that page i decided to make a "blood reletive" of sorts and i am not ripping the page off okay so do not take this page down okay this is just me making my opinion and hearing others opinions. anyways i want to hear your ideas of were the series can go after second son and what DLC you had in mind NO ideas for a Eugine dlc though i want you to be fresh and have a more outside the box idea for second son dlc (like maybe a dlc similar to festival of blood (tone wise atleast)). anyways leave your ideas in the comments please to not shut this duscussion done and yeah hear is my idea for the next infamous game (also be sure to put your opinions on it in the comment section) enjoy.
INFAMOUS WAR ZONE: it is set 3 years after the events of infamous: second son and the D.U.P has been disbanded and a law has pass that gives conduits rights not all rights though (think the same amount of rights blacks were given in the 50's or 60's) there are signs at certin places that say Humans only, there are small groups of conduit haters hanging conduits, and overall Conduits are still kindof treated bad just not as bad as they were in second son (the hangings in the game are rare). hpwever Delsin is found by the C.I.A to infultrate a company in Toronto called X Inc. he accepts after hearing something about a Certin paper conduit so when he heads to toronto it is a war zone some reapers have somehow survived the beast and have taken residents in toronto (it is explain in the game how some of them survived), the crime rate is high, there is wire powered biker conduits and a conduit hate group causing anarchy, and conduits running around doing no good. Delsin decides to not only Infultrate the company but get some new powers, clear the streets, runs in to a female conduit with darkness powers who watches him and loves him (think Kessler meets Sasha) and finds out secrets. meanwhile Cole has been in hiding in Iran and returns after hearing of Delsin he first looks in seattle (also cole has hair in this by the way) he does not find him but finds out where he is headin and so he heads to toronto. both conduits are dangerous but one things remains will they work togethr to save the city and uncover X Inc.'s secrets or CLASH. in this game there are more moral choices the UGC missions and side missions are brought back and a third karma option (Neutral) and you can play as both cole and Delsin. alsot he new powers are paper, Wire, Fire, Water, Glass, Music, Darkness, Evo,and Lighting (if you choose to fight cole rather then convince him to help you) the in my idea the graphics are next gen (and i mean next gen as in it actually looks real) and the open world is GTA V style massive.
Well, there are some Korean, Chinese, Cantonese and Vietnamese restaurants that can be found in the lantern district. Lots of Asian stores in Seattle, Washington.
We never quite finished them, which is a bit sad. I'd help but my replacement PS4 is currently on back order, from Japan. We should start some of the pages now and add to them, and I'll add some when my PS4 arrives and I replay inFAMOUS: Second Son. Ock.
