Alden Strikes was the nineteenth story mission in Infamous. After finding out that Zeke got himself captured by the Dust Men, Cole ventured through the shipyards in the Warren to free him.

Story

You idiots just made the biggest mistake of your lives.
― Cole MacGrath, after hearing about Zeke's capture[src]

A mysterious male voice announced to Cole over a loudspeaker that they had his friend Zeke held prisoners. Upon hearing this, Cole began searching the labyrinth of containers, which was heavily guarded by groups of Dust Men who ambushed him along the way. When Moya discovered why Cole was there, she strictly insisted he refrain from rescuing Zeke, noting that his actions put him there in the first place. Cole, however, was not too keen on abandoning his friend.

Alden Strikes cutscene 2

A few civilians are killed by one of the RPG Transients.

Once Cole got above the compound, Cole saw what he thought was Zeke in a container near him, but was actually a container with innocent civilians trapped inside, suddenly killed within seconds by a rocket fired by one of the Dust Men. Zeke then revealed himself by shouting for Cole from the other side of the compound, being held prisoner in a cage dangling above the yard. Cole acted fast and rushed over there, mowing down the remaining Dust Men. After activating the switch, Cole dropped the cage to the street outside the shipyards, freeing his friend.

Alden Strikes cutscene 3

"This isn't a game, not anymore."

Despite Zeke's claim that he just wanted to help, Cole scolded him for nearly getting himself killed. Zeke then became feisty, feeling like his friend did not think he was worth anything, but Cole made it clear how serious things were. Before wandering off, Zeke told Cole that his powers do not make him superior to everyone else.

Walkthrough

Traversing the compound

Upon starting the missions, search for the opening within the containers and enter the compound. As you step forward, a few Dust Men will emerge from a container and attack. Level them with a Shock Grenade, then turn right to find more of them. For the shielded enemies, use Megawatt Hammers, then fire one at the Dust Men on the walkway above.

Alden Strikes gameplay 1

Cole turns the valves to the gas pipes.

As you press forward, mowing down more Dust Men, you will see in the corridor some pipes emitting toxic gas. Search for the valve to shut them off, then find the other one to shut off the pipes above. After ascending the yellow ladder, leap to the cable and move along it, then jump over to the walkway. Upon entering the adjacent corridor, head for the corner, and you will be ambushed by a grenade-launching Dust Man; use Precision to snipe him. Move forward all the way to the end and then go left. Turn around and snipe the RPG Dust Man that you see. By backtracking a little, you will find an adjacent alley. Upon entering, some more Dust Men will emerge from one of the containers. Soften them up with a Shockwave, then finish them off. You will need to back up a little, as some of them are equipped with shotguns. Deal with them using Shockwaves or Megawatt Hammers, then turn the corner.

You will encounter a turret and another RPG Dust Man. Slow things down by triggering Precision, and try to snipe the RPG man first, then quickly go for the turret gunner. If needed, there are small lights around the area you can use as energy sources. From here, the path is straightforward until you reach a fence. Two Dust Men will gun you from the other side. Toss a grenade over to them, then find the ladder on your left and climb it. Jump to the right, then glide over the aforementioned fence. As you move forward, you will be ambushed by more Dust Men, accompanied by kamikaze Dust Men, who should be your top priority here. Blast them with Lightning Bolts, then use grenades against the rest, but watch out for another RPG Dust Man. Once you go around the corner, you will be at the bottom of a steep ramp, with a turret sitting at the top. Take cover behind one of the barriers, and use Precision to snipe him, but also look out for the Dust Men on the left and right containers. They will also roll down some flammable barrels towards you, which are harmful to both you and your enemies. Go up the ramp and subdue them, then go left around the next corner.

Alden Strikes gameplay 2

Cole rains down Shock Grenades at the Transients.

After going past the contraption and then going under the containers, the fence will lock on you. Back out and climb the containers to make it to the next section. Once there, start off with a Thunder Drop, then use Lightning Bolts and Shock Grenades. Mow down the Dust Men on the ledge, then climb up there yourself. Head down the ramp and enter the next corridor. When you turn the corner, a turret locked behind a fence will begin firing at you. Make a quick break to the ladder and climb up, then jump and glide to the top of the containers. Drop down to the other end and attack the turret man from behind. Ascend the ledge to your left and enter this area.

Start by defeating the enemies right in front of you. Upon turning the corner, you will encounter a bunch of Dust Men, one of them manning a turret, and another with an RPG. Try to conceal yourself to the left so that you cannot take damage easily. Use Precision to snipe both the RPG man and the turret gunner. You can also try leading some of your foes into this area and fall back toward the ramp to finish them off. Use the light fixtures here to drain energy if needed.

Freeing Zeke

Alden Strikes gameplay 3

Cole pulls the crane lever to free Zeke.

Once the area is clear, climb the ladders on the side of the containers. Upon reaching the top, you will see a brief scene that reveals Zeke's location. From here, traverse the top of the containers and towards Zeke's cage. Some Dust Men will be waiting for you on the far end of the area. Try to snipe as many as you can, then drop down to the next level, but do not drop all the way down to the ground. Hang off some ledges and fry a few other Dust Men. If you are playing on evil karma, consider Bio Leeching them for any needed energy.

Note that Zeke will be killed if you take too long to reach the crane. Head for the southeast side of the yard, where more Dust Men await. After you deal with them, head underneath the crane's lower walkway. Find the red ladder and climb up to it. The next ladder takes you up further. Once at the top, defeat the three Dust Men here, then approach the crane controls to lower Zeke's cage. Drop down to Zeke's position to complete the mission.
