Tbh after seeing Quantum Break I thought of Second Son. Maybe it's because very few games have a dash ability through a superpower, or just the animations for running being similar, not to mention some jumping around and parkour.
But from what I've seen, it's more of a step towards "game movies" (like Beyond: Two Souls) including more gameplay rather than, well, animations and cutscenes, although I absolutely spit at the idea of including a 30 minute life-action movie in your game. Dude, let us play. I don't wanna see cutscene and I sure don't want to see that guy from the Scorch Trails talking as discreetly as he did in, well, the Scorch Trails.
Now now, Quantum Break was pretty much a testing ground, to see if "TV show video games" could be the next "big thing" like how CGI cutscenes were a huge thing in the 90's. Granted, the story IN the TV show was far better then what we got in the main game, that's saddening, but the game's marketing was soley put to it's "innovative" time gameplay, which, it was just Alan Wake with a few cool time powers.
Oh come on, the villain was awesome, his acting was just so hammy, the way he took it so seriously, it's just something we don't see in games now-a-days.
Fun fact:Both Second Son and Quantum Break used Nirvana songs for their theme song.
Speaking of which, when is Sucker Punch going to announce the next game already. We already know they've been working on something from half a year ago ago when some Japanese guy was testing the game, and by then the game should have been complete enough for the guy to play at least one level/mission. What are some upcoming gaming events? I know you are better at tracking events like E3 and such than I am.
Also, what did Quantum Break use?
EDIT: I think Sucker Punch is listening to Bethesda's advice to game publishers to make the announce date close to the release date to make game hype optimized. Some people judged that but when you think about it, a very successful game developer and publisher is giving advice; obviously that advice is good judging by their success. Maybe whatever comes after SS will be released about 6-7 months after announcement
There was something in London a few weeks ago, I know Sony attended, they showed off Uncharted 4.
