Mobs

Appearance

The citizens of Empire City will form mobs if Cole is inFamous ranked or in a mob mission. For the former, civilians will gather around Cole whenever he's on the street and attack. For the latter, there are various missions which have Cole interact with mobs, for example Dark Water, in which civilians infected by Black Tar attack Cole, regardless of his Karmic state. There are also various side missions in which Cole can protect a mob that is protesting a local gang of Empire City

Attacks

• Angry civilians run up to punch/kick Cole
• Will also throw rocks or hit Cole with signs if carrying them
  

  

• The Police and SWAT teams will aid the civilians.

Combat

• Civilians have low health and damage.
• They can kill Cole if he doesn't fight back
• They do not show up as enemies on the mini-map but you still get XP for killing them.

Trivia

• Normal pedestrians can begin attacking you even after you have helped them in a mission.
• In "Against the World" the civilians affected by the Black Tar show behavior similar to zombies, such as running with the classic to hands held outwards. Fortunately they do not bite.
• Good Missions involving mobs are to protect them from the gangs the are protesting against. However, regardless of which gang controls the local area, the mobs always have a Reaper Poster with a no sign through it
