  • Delsin Rowe Powers V4

    • Hopefully this won't get messy like that other thread. Thought that v3 got a little too much replies anyway.

So, powers confirmed, Smoke, Neon, and Concrete.

Powers being described, well the Microwave waves?

        Loading editor
    • Have they confirmed concrete? I know if was hinted at, and will mostly likely be in the game unless they add in a weird loophole. I'm wondering if we'll get any "solid" powers besides concrete.

        Loading editor
    • I can't imagine how you would refill solid powers, though. Concrete may use a special mechanic where you can only use it when standing on it, or close to a surface made of it.

        Loading editor
    • Maybe it drains slightly slower than other powers and to refill it you have to absorb if from DUP Knights.

        Loading editor
    • I don't think it's just the knight that use it, seems to be just about all of them. That minigun guy had armour made of it and I can't be certain but in that recent gameplay footage it looked like the Pawns doing that badass dive bomb move.

        Loading editor
    • Which gameplay? I didn't see that.

        Loading editor
    • What I'm concerned about is that I never actually saw Delsin switch powers. He always drained something and his power changed. I hope you don't have to do this to switch powers.

        Loading editor
    • Wow I totally missed that. Such a cool move for an enemy, adds a good bit of variety. Did kinda looked like a pawn too, not sure though.

        Loading editor
    • Red they actually confirmed that draining is how you switch. Like a good bit back, I think it was before the video I linked but here's an example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44djyrRLE6Y&hd=1

        Loading editor
    • NVM just watched it and I think it might have been a Knight, can't be too sure though cause it's hard to see through the tear gas.

Sorry Red but they already confirmed that's the way you change power sets. Personally I like it, I definitely prefer it to a weapon wheel or the pain of having to go through menus like in IF2.

        Loading editor
    • It's actually a really simple thing that I think helps the strategic aspect a lot. Imagine running out of Neon sources and having to switch to Smoke and being forced to get up close to enemies because of the power differences.

        Loading editor
    • Wow! I just noticed that if you kill enough enemies, they surrender and actually run away. That's amazing.

        Loading editor
    • The soundtrack is so much better in this game.

        Loading editor
    • Eh, I actually really liked the other Infamous soundtracks, especially in I2 (dat Beast song), but I'm really feeling the ones here in Second Son. That song that plays when he's just walking around helps give off an amazing atmosphere.

        Loading editor
    • Looks like some Pawns at least can use powers, in the russian video above at around 10:00 that's definitely a Pawn seemingly firing concrete but I can be too sure what he was doing. Does anyone else think that the voice actors seem to have done an amazing job? I have an older brother myself and from their tone and the way they speak to each other I can easily believe Delsin and Reggie being brothers, especially at the part where they're arguing while the DUP are attacking them.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah having watched that Evil/Good Karma video with the different choices I feel that they're an amazing cast of VAs. The evil choice Delsin is just dripping with malice. And you can hear that good Delsin just wants to help.

I thought you could drain it from rubble. for example, you could break a statue and drain the rubble, and it looks like much more things in the world are destructible, so it would fit well.

We did see that one DUP conduit draining something in the Good/Evil Karma gameplay trailer a couple of weeks back.

    • I mean, how would he store that stuff? Gas is kind of logical, but goin' round with rocks inside you is a bit unimaginable to me.

        Loading editor
    • Maybe they aren't stored inside? Whenever we see the DUP they always have lumps of concrete floating around their hands. Maybe that's how it's kept?

        Loading editor
    • Oh yeah, so it's not really stored, but like an armed / unarmed thing?

    • Don't forget though that the game isn't always completely logical when it comes to powers. Just look at Bertrand, due to the conservation of mass, no matter whether he was in it or not he should have been carrying around the weight of his true form (like Envy from FullMetal Alchemist) and I doubt that helicopter could've gotten off the ground if he was.

    • From what Nate Fox has been emphasizing, they're really going for specializing each power to do a certain thing. Smoke is designed to be a mid-range medium hitter, while Neon is a long distance sniping kind of thing. Concrete will probably their go to for a defensive/one-hit-knock-out power.

What I'm hoping for is some sort of very close range, rapid fire power like the Bolt Stream powerup from IF2.

      Sure thing.

A: Powers are confirmed to be switchable through absorbing the power source, so you cannot switch powers on demand

B: The viable options for powers have "natural" sources, meaning that they are things found commonly around the city, and make sense in the enviornment.

    • First of all I can't really say about the RFI theory since we're still waiting for SP to give an official reason for why conduits are still around.

2nd: yeah Neon has a precision like ability.

3rd: rather than making a new comment to correct something just click more and from there edit on your last comment and you can change and add to it.

4th: don't worry about being here when everyone else is, just come and reply to people or post when you feel like it.

5th: chances are within the first day of release there'll be a video of Cole's Legacy on Youtube.

6th: Steam is a cool idea but can you think of any sources it could be drained from?

Also Trev what country are you from? Cause if you're from the UK I know where you can get the Special edition for only £5-£10 extra.

        Loading editor
    • my bets would be:

      1) microwaves, since it fits with the satellites we've seen in the gameplays

2)some kind of waste related power, like poison or acid

3)rust, since its pretty common in big cities and even if it is solid i think it would make more sense than concrete

I don't know which ones of these will happen, if any, but they would make awesome poweersets

    • Trevalyn please stop making these pointless one-two line post  saying you messed up if you write something wrong go back and edit it there's a button for that plus why would we wait for you to get home from school wtf really not being mean just saying, but we are trying to keep these threads condensed and as small as posible the last powers thread was a nightmare please don't speed up the process. Otherwise welcome to the wiki.

Back on topic yeah I think we all knew this is just a game real world logic does not apply just whatever SP showed us in the past games the which doesn't require much.

      1. Must be visible obviously(No sound).     2. Must be absorbed that's been the premise since day one(does not  need to apply to physics completely).     3.Cannot be OP or near unlimited(Sound again).          4. Most important it has to be fun.

That's pretty much all it takes remember this is suppose to be like a comic book and lets not even get started on how OP most of them are compared to Cole or the Beast. Concrete may not have a source we would commonly have in our world, but  this isn't are world or I would be a prime conduit.     Sorry for the long post, but you guys already know I write a lot.

    • Wow Beast you really aren't a fan of sound are you? With the right restrictions on what could be drained I think it could be great. We've already seen that not only do the DUP cameras have sirens but so do their vans. It obviously has to be something sizable or it wouldn't be worth draining it (that's pretty much, I assume, why we couldn't drain signs or tiny lights in infamous 1 and 2). Also it would be easy to give it some visual representation like how Star Wars has represented the force in games for years, An example of which can be seen at around 4:15 here

I agree with GuyFarting, what's wrong with Sound as a power? Its way more plausible than some of the other power suggestions such as Glass. It also has way more potential as it can have an array of different abilities.

BeastPlagueEver, why don't watch this video? To see all stuff you can do with sound.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ude8pPjawKI

    • I don't hate sound powers I think it would be very cool Im aware they could just add a color to it like they did for concrete/rock powers for DUP, but even if they gave it a color what would keep it looking different from neon which already has multiple ripple effects and is purely light, then you have to think about the sound effects what sound do you pick for sound would it be a Hnnnnn or a Vrmmmm in pulses like high pitch or low.

Also how would Delsin absorb sound through his hands or ears  would he hold his hands out in front of the cameras and sound would magically become visible when it wasn't before.

Sound just seems to take qualities from neon mostly I think adding rock or poison powers would break from the equation a little bit just imagine acid grenades with a splash effect or rock armor it would be something different, but no matter which powers he gets I'll be happy and sure they will use there creativity.

    • We haven't really discussed what the powers do to delsin's chain. Like what would concrete, plant/wood, and microwaves do to it.

    • Thank you Chaos. I actually wept with joy when I saw your post.

@beast poison would be great but there's no source, at least not that I can think of. The main reason Sound keeps getting brought back up is because of the sources we see in the videos. For example: DUP cameras have alarms, DUP vans have sirens and in the first part of the russian gameplay you can here music coming from somewhere in the game (which it obviously is because the volume goes up and down as he moves about and stops completely when he gets too far away). It wouldn't necessarily just be given a colour, if they showed it via distorted air or condensed water vapour it would still be plenty visible.

Gameplay wise it also has a lot of potential as a CC type power, sound grenades could disorientate or stun enemies and charged bolts could throw them back (think Fus Ro Dah) via a release of compressed energy like Bartholomew Kuma from One Piece.

Or it could be a stealth power, with grenades functioning like rocks in other games to lure enemies away and maybe an attack to trap sound within a certain area to avoid guards who spot you alerting others.

I guess it's probably cause we don't really know if the powers have anything more than an aesthetic effect. But if they do affect how it functions (which I really hope they do) I would say the same as you for concrete, which I would guess has the effect of slower attacks but higher damage.

For plants maybe vines that extend the reach and drag people in?

Microwaves... IDK, but for some reason I imagine it having a combo meter.

Sound: knock people away, not too sure about the visuals bar a sonic boom each time it hits.

       Oh God I hope so.

    • Guy jsut because something is presentt in game doesn't automatically make it connected to a power the purpose of the sound is to alert DUP just like the dishes are for a new kind of dead drop of mission type or could be just aesthetics. For poison it would be odd for poison just to lying around, but who knows.

        Loading editor
    • Well we can't really rule anything out. No one saw neon coming and it blends well enough into the environment that you wouldn't guess it would be a power, just like the other stuff we listed (dishs, plants). It's certainly possible, I don't think it's likely though, too abundant, too many weird limitations on being absorbed.

    • guys sources for steam dont have to be logical, if you remember in infamous 1 if you looked up in lightning storm you saw it came from nowher

        Loading editor
    • Yeah but the lightning storm didn't have to be a power source, it's just you using your power. It really isn't that logical, even if it is Infamous. I mean Smoke and Neon are part of an urban landscape (steam is too I suppose) but they have legit sources to be taken from. Steam also seems too close to Smoke and too close to water in a gameplay perspective.

        Loading editor
    • @TheChaosController "No one saw neon coming."

I made mention of being able to absorb neon from signs WAY before the Fetch trailer. :D

      @GuyFarting

You could have the chain vibrate at high speeds, but I do like the idea of SONIC BOOMS hitting enemies. Fus Ra Dah? Gez, as though Delsin already has massive ego being a Conduit, a Conduit being able to absorb powers no less. Now to inflate that ego by making him the Dragonborn? :)

      @Trevalyn1

The problem with a steam power is that we kinda already have one. You various degrees of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and water vapor being a part of smoke. Sucker Punch has already stated that they aren't going to use water as a power source. That includes ALL forms of water, not just its liquid state.

        Loading editor
    • Eh, well I stand corrected. I don't think it was a widespread theory at the time though. I like the idea of sound reflecting off the satellites, like the powerlines from I1 and I2, and that's how you travel with that power.

        Loading editor
    • in the trailers you can see sparks on big yellow satellites

i think yellow satellites are dead drops and red ones are some kind of microwave power

also in the latest trailer you can see red music note symbol on the minimap (similar to infamous 2??)

        Loading editor
    • @Chaos that is actually pretty genius.

@Beast I'm aware that something won't be a power JUST because we see it in a video, hence I haven't suggested cocaine or soda based powers. I'm just working with what we have, if we had seen barrels full of acid lying around I would've proposed that as a power, but as it is we've seen a lot of machines producing sound and a lot of plants which is why those are the powers I'm mainly focusing on, because they have viable sources that we know exist in the game. They've already said some things will be more abundant than others in certain areas so I'm not saying suggestions have to have a source seen in the videos, just that those that we have seen in the videos have potential as powers.

        Loading editor
    • Just to put a limit on which powers will be in the game I was wondering  how many powers do you want in the game and how many do you think will be in game?  Four has already been pretty much confirmed do you think there's more or is four enough? I'm at least 100% sure concrete powers are in game so that leaves at least one more power, but there will probably be another so I'm thinking 5 powers total.  So its between Sound, Radio waves, Poison, or Plants.

In my opinion its would most likely be Poison and Sound out of the five, plant powers are posible I just don't see bio type powers in Infamous like absorbing soil and plants or leves off of trees would be kind of cool I guess, but it sounds like a little bit*he's version of prototype and other than a vine wipe it couldn't do much else and mutated plants could end up making Infamous too cartoonish a unless they look real and menacing like the corrupted,.

        Loading editor
    • @beast I agree with what you said about plants, I kind of like the idea of draining plants and watching them wither up. Personally I like to think there's just 4 powers, that way if there's more it'll be a pleasant surprise.

        Loading editor
    • Four powers sounds reasonable and likely. As to what the forth one is (assuming concrete is one), I'd have my sights set on Sound or Plants.

If you think about it, so far they've provided us with two powers that are common in a city (smoke and concrete) and added something that's in the enviornment, but you wouldn't exactly relate it to the urban landscape.

Trees dot every city corner and street, and sound is literally almost everywhere to be found.

        Loading editor
    • So, I don't know if you guys have seen this, but here's a new site that came from that Gameplay trailer a few days back.

      http://enjoyyourpower.com/

It gives you some free karma for the game as long as you link your copy to your account of the site. You can sign up to get a conduit testing kit sent to you to find out if you have the gene. And there's a little pamphlet that teases various available conduit powers. "Thus far Electrical, Wire, Paper, Glass, Shadow, and Magnetic conduit proteins have been uncovered, barely scratching the surface of the many classifications of conduit types."

      Also this http://bioframediagnostics.com/?locale=en

It seems kinda similar to Abstergo from Assassins Creed. Extremely interesting, they even mention that conduits existed 7 years ago. Very cool thing for Sucker Punch to do.

        Loading editor
    • I'm not signing up for a kit, but if someone posts one on Reddit I'll be sure to copy it over here.

What? Since when does sound reflect off of satellites? Microwave power seems more likely to travel in that regard.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satellite_dish

      @Ccnitro and GuyFarting

I really don't like thinking that there is only going to be four powers, you can't give us power absorption and only have four powers in the game! They had three powers in Infamous 2 (Electricity, Napalm/Fire, and Ice). It would feel cheap to do that if the game comes out and only way to find out more powers is to buy the game only there is small number of abilities to discover. It is shady that SP won't even say the NUMBER of power types. Saying a number isn't going to spoil anything. I feel like the PR person at Sucker Punch needs advice from an old idiom - "moderation in all things".

        Loading editor
    • Thanks Chaos, I love it when game companies make websites like that (like when Eidos make a Sarif Industries website for Deus ex: Human Revolution)

Pariah I've just always held to the belief that if you keep your expectations low you'll never be disappointed. The few times when I've let myself get sucked into hype whatever it was has been a letdown - the LOTR films being the exception - and I can prove that it was due to the hype because when I go back I almost always love them. For example when I saw Hellboy in the cinema I thought it was absolute crap but now when I watch it I really enjoy it.

So that's why while I hope certain things (sound powers) will be in the game i'm not getting seriously into the idea of them, after all i'm already hyped for the game in general so I don't want to focus on too many details. I mean I think we all know the game won't be a letdown but a few disappointing elements could lessen the impact of the sheer, seizure causing awesomeness.

I just want to rub this in the face of all those xbone fanboys that keep commenting on second son videos http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/02/25/infamous-second-son-569-96-ps4-bundle-instantly-tops-gamestops-best-sellers-ranking/

        Loading editor
    • What the hell! Why exactly can people from Singapore and Korea sign up to Chaos' link but not people from the UK? I wouldn't mind but those countries are actually further away! Racists!

        Loading editor
    • GuyFarting, I realize that I have high expectations for Second Son, and yes, I have been letdown too for when the hype wasn't met back in the past. I think 5 powers is my maximum limit, if we do get more than that will be awesome. I also thinking there has to be some kind of balance and it is easier to do that with less powers than more.

I still think Sucker Punch's PR is doing an awful job. Yes, SP I agree that you want to keep the other powers as surprises, but you still need to sell the game. Infamous 2 had too much being cover and not enough content. They show off: Ionic Vortex, Ionic Drain, Ionic Freeze, Ice Launch, Firebird strike, the fact that Cole was going to get Ice and Fire powers, the Corrupted, the Ice Gang, Flood Town, Kinetic Pulse, Ice Titans, Devourers. That is all I can remember now, but the point is that what was left? Lightning Tether, Fire/Ice blasts, grenades and rockets, Ice polarity wall knock off, those useless Spikers and Ionic Storm.

They already show off a LOT of content, but they did not have a LOT of other content for surprises.

    • Guys, in the new gameplay trailer, at the 10 second mark, you see a new enemy type, covered completely in concrete, with only a few pieces of armor showing. At the 9 second mark, on a strip of yellow on the bus to the left, you see a website called enjoyyourpower.com. It's a promotion for the game in which you could get cool stuff, like extra missions and karma points in-game, for free. On the bottom of the page, there are two clickable logos: the Conduit Rights League and BioFrame Diagnostics.

At the bottom of the CRL page is a history tidbid, with a red-headed woman (reveal trailer, anyone?) named Stacy Pine.

In the drop down box, "What is a Conduit?", this excerpt, just as the rest of the site, provides very interesting insight about how conduits work:

"When this gene is exposed to ray field radiation, the conduit begins producing a protein that allows carriers to absorb, store, and manipulate specific ambient elements from their enviroment. These elements range from broad natural phenomena, like electricity, to very specific synthetic materials, like asphalt."

And - since this is a power suggestion page -, at the bottom of the of the BioFrame Diagnotics site, there is a downloadable brochure, with hints as to what the powers we get in game could be. Another excerpt, from the brochure this time:

"Thus far, Electrical, Wire, Glass, Paper, Shadow, and Magnetic Conduit Proteins have been uncovered, barely scratching the surface of the many classifications of known Conduit types."

Don't I have a very good eye? :D On a side note, I was as giddy as a school girl when I found this out; it was midnight, two nights ago, and I couldn't go to sleep for around an hour.

    • Ooooooo I didn't notice that conduit I after seeing that I really hope Delsin absorbs concrete. It will have low AoE , lowest range, but crazy damage like 2 shot kills his ground pound would be like or the same as DUP knights , his rockets would be like those DUP boulders they throw it would just move horizontally and explodes at the end, concrete grenades would explodes into shrapnel once it detonated, rock jump( just like ice jump) , dash Delsin covers himself in rock and dashes forward knocking enemies in air, rock slide because movement will be slower this gives you a chance to get closer to enemies.

I might have an idea for the karma bomb, but not sure its good enough any ideas from you guys would be great though.

Yes, the glitch has been occuring for everyone else, for me it's now going on and off, but it's manageable if you Ctrl+F5. Regular refreshing for me doesn't cut it, but it might for you. )

I'm interested at why they didn't mention Ice or Napalm Conduits, or even Psychic Conduits like Alden.

I like this idea that they're building their game outside of their game, similar to the developer of The Last of Us, Naughty Dog, who made fake twitter accounts to coincide with the companies in the game's world. (I saw GuyFarting's post about external websites with Deus Ex after this, but I'm still keeping this in

While it is based majorly on science, it doesn't have to follow all of the rules of physics, making sound satellite pretty plausible in my mind.

EDIT: About the new enemy type, it looks to me like it's just a Pawn with a much different angle then we are used to.

    • IMO they completely spoiled a lot of major things with the Infamous 2 marketing. I didn't own the game at the time, but after I beat it I went back and watched the trailers, and jesus christ. I'm so glad they aren't doing that with Second Son, even saying how many powers there will be would ruin it for me honestly. It's frustrating, but I'm glad that one I pick up the game 99% of it'll be fresh. Plus they're gonna sell way more than the previous games, just based on the PS4 install base, so I'm not too beat up about it.

I like how they are keeping things secret, but it does make me concern how the final product will be. If they had more content to show off in Infamous 2, it wouldn't have been a disappointment.

The other powers you got in 2 just didn't have any surprise flair, Napalm and Ice weren't  powersets with different playstyles, they were just grenades/blasts/rockets reskinned with different attributes. The Miscellaneous abilities ranged from great (Ice Launch) to abysmal (Spikers).

They said on the Twitter that Neon and Smoke have other abilities we haven't seen yet, which is good. We also have this article from Kotaku with an offhand comment from Troy Baker with regards to Delsin's power progression.

      http://kotaku.com/the-next-infamous-wants-to-see-just-how-evil-youll-get-1521342315

"We weren't shown any of the progression of those powers, however, beyond an ionic power-style supermove we were asked not to describe in detail. But Troy Baker promised offhandedly that the escalation of Delsin's powers is quite intense and unpredictable. So, there's that."

        Loading editor
    • Honestly if they have a lot to show I don't want them to. I'd like for them to keep secret as much content as humanly possible to be honest. I wanna be surprised at the upgrades, but only when I actually play the game. In a game like Assassin's Creed I'd say differently, the world is so huge they could just go to an island and do a demo there, but Infamous is one city, I wanna be surprised.

    • Cob's 2nd reply to this thread, to make sure he isn't having the vanishing comment syndrome.

I'm a bit worried about InFamous' gameplay system. In the neon and smoke powers it's clear we have some new powers and attacks. Time slow and shotgun like smoke blast. But I'm a bit worried about a few things. Mostly the 'some of his regular attacks look more like the same'

He has a neon/smoke dash that kos people. An airdrop ground pound that seems to have the same area of effect. The same gliding (hope there's really a difference between them). And the possibility of melee being the same 3 hit ko.

I might just be a bit paranoid and worried that the powers would be a bit the same. Regardless, happy to see this as #11 of Angry Joe's most anticipate for 2014. Who is an xbox gamer who recently got a ps4.

      I'll stop now.

Anyway, I doubt kinetic energy is in the game, but I'm sure concrete would be a power for Delsin. But then I start thinking. If Delsin can copy concrete abilities, wouldn't he do that already? I'm thinking there's a possibility that the earth conduits are actually made from a project similar to Lucy Kuo's Vemaak project. But I think it's comparatively safer and much more effective than seven years ago.

Still hoping for plant/fertilizer powers, and interested on sound waves. Signals are really large in numbers in a modern city. And for a random note, opinions about Delsin having picture powers? Haha, oh selfies.

Also, does anyone have news if we can get some of those glow in the dark condoms from Italy?

Yeah, I watch the footage again and saw that Neon doesn't have the same lift as Smoke.

      @COB

IMO Neon>>>>>Smoke, but yeah they do have same move, but the progression of those moves might be the difference maker. Besides, those might not be the only moves in Smoke and Neon.

You watch Angry Joe? I weep for the future. Okay, I USED to watch some other channels even ThatGuyWithTheGlasses, but it just cease to be fun to watch those shows for me.

Maybe we'll eventually get a power that makes the normal bolts make smoke clouds, or neon bolts that blind enemies. I'm interesting in the upgrades because I haven't given them much thought really. I wonder if the smoke shotgun can be upgrade to have a wider spread. Or smoke grenades splinter into more grenades. Neon stasis bombs auto subdue enemies, the possibilities are amazing.

I want to see other upgrades that differ from electricity but I won't complain too horribly.

To me, the upgrades are what makes the powers, well... powers. I read the Infamous 1 review from a Eurogamer reviewer that, no pun intended, infamously said that all the powers were just electric counterparts of firearms. Excuse me? I didn't know a pistol (Bolt) could electrify the water, or chain its bullet to nearby enemies by targeting their heads. I didn't know a shotgun (Blast) could pick a dumpster/car/whatever and throw it at an enemy. I didn't know a normal hand grenade could split itself into multiple hand grenades. I didn't know... Okay you get the point.

The problem with that review is that it ignored the upgrade system entirely and that's one of the things that made it stand out among other third-person shooters. It made Cole's progression seem like he was mastering his abilities and growing stronger.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah that kinda sucks. It is a third person shooter with powers analoging weapons, but it's so much more. I've never seen someone in a third person shooter turn into neon and run up a building, or turn into smoke and choke-slam a police officer, and that's what Infamous brings to the table. Speaking of upgrades, I hope they bring back the power "flexing" from Infamous 2, where you can only get powers after doing certain stunts. I also hope they have a ton more stunts to choose from, considering the multiple powers it should be easy to do.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, Exactly! I never saw a third person shooter character transform into smoke to go up a vent or use a neon laser to disintegrate a human being.

I like the stunts from 2 but I hope the variations get shelved.

        Loading editor
    • I remember them saying in an interview that there wouldn't be a "shop" where you buy upgrades, so I'm wondering how that'll turn out. Based on the gameplay that came out recently, it looks like xp got replaced by karma, of course that could change, but it's still interesting. Also, just found something interesting. On the http://conduitrightsleague.com/?locale=en website it specifically mentions asphalt being a possible power. Maybe that's the substance we keep seeing?

        Loading editor
    • Is it possible these Bioframe Diagnostics and Conduit Rights League could be factions in the game do you think? I'm assuming that there are more enemies than the DUP since 3 factions seems to be the standard for inFamous games.

@pariah That reviewers carer really should've been there to stop him embarrasing himself. It wouldn't be too bad if the upgrades were difficult to figure out or took ages to earn but by the time you made the first Karmic decision you could already have blasts defying gravity! I found it so easy to use that I never even realised the blast could be compared to a shotgun. But of course he is right in a way, I mean I think we all have one of those guns that shoots lightning bolts from the sky.

@COB Have you tried CTRL+F5? Cause it works for me every time. I think they implied that the powers the DUP had were something to do with the red woman (congratulations if you get the reference) didn't they?

I would sign up to EnjoyYourPower but for some reason it seems you can only sign up from the Americas and east Asia. I have no idea why, do SP have a fleet of ships at their command but are incapable of sending things via airfreight? Who knows, but knowing my luck you lucky buggers that can sign up will have it hand delivered by Nate Fox who will then reveal he's a conduit a fly away after giving you a free copy of the game.

        Loading editor
    • I don't know, I think the Conduit Rights League is a front for the DUP. I mean look at this . Looks exactly like her. I wonder why they need a front though. Maybe that's how they get the funding to give their officers powers?

    • If that Is her do you think that's a false name? Cause if that's her real name I have no idea who the Augustine Reggie mentioned in the Fetch cutscene is.

There's obviously fanboys, but I'm actually eager tp see how it pans out, especially after I learned Second Son bundles are outselling Titanfall bundles, I'm wondering how many people will actuallly buy a PS4 for Infamous. And the sales for Second Son of course.

    • IDK why people consider Titanfall to be such a system seller when you can get it on 360 and PC. The fact is for the most part sony has better excusives especially when it comes to xbone vs ps4, the order 1886 looks amazing and I've only ever played the demo of uncharted but they seem great, not to mention the awesome games Quantic Dream come out with. The only real area microsoft mainly dominates is shooters and their top selling franchises are finished (GoW and I can't remember if they're doing anymore Halos). I prefer Playstation but i'm by no means a fanboy, if ever there was an Xbox exclusive that looked amazing I would buy it in a heartbeat but as it is the only one to ever turn my head is Fable 2 because pretty much everything else either didn't interest me or they released it on PC aswell.

Oh well, refreshing once more will probably reveal more posts again.

Regarding powers, I saw that sound video and now, more than ever, think that Sound is definitely a viable power to absorb. But how it would work regarding Infamous' gameplay mechanics and control scheme?

Oh, and I recall some guys on the V3 thread discussing control scheme, and I have a partial control scheme memorized, so it'll be easier to visualize some of these powers working within Second Son.

      X: Jump

Pressing and Holding X in air: Thrusters

O: Smoke Dash (Pressing and Holding for Neon Sprint/Run/Dash)

      Square: Melee

      Square in air: Ground Pound

L1: Grenade (no zoom in like I1/2)

      L2: ADS/zoom in

      R2: basic shot

Pressing and Holding R2: Cinder Blast (shotgun-like Smoke blast)

One finger on Touchpad near power source: absorb power souce (used to be 2 thumbs)

      Down on D-Pad: Karma Bomb

You know the tops of the vents that you exit through on the top of buildings. If you Smoke Dash over those, you will be launched up into the air, Ice Launch style. Car Jump also makes a return, but you could actually launch at an angle (unike I2, where it was straight up) and it seems to launch you further.

Both thumbs on the Touchpad when close to human-sized enemy: Strangulation (not "restricting blood flow"-type choking) Controls could've changed since E3, though (or maybe even completely scrapped).

All the button functions that are left to be known: L3, R3, Up, Left, and Right on D-Pad, R1, and Triangle. R1 is probably the Smoke Rocket, which in this this Gamespot interview is shown to have a "bullet drop" effect after traveling a certain distance, but was rather difficult to see off-screen and at an unallowing in-game camera angle. But the latest gameplay only confirms this (with multiple Smoke Rockets, too).

I truly apologize for the long post.

    • Huh. Never thought of the thrusters being activated by pressing and holding. Actually makes more sense than the previous controls. Where'd you get the control scheme from? I'd never heard of the thruster control button and grenade control button before now.

    • I'm pretty sure they experimented with the thrusters being mapped to the same button as jump when you used the PS Move controller in I2.

        Loading editor
    • Well that explains it. I had a PS Move but never had a chance to hook it up and mess around with that function.

    • I was just thinking about the powers and realized that the shockwaves won't make a return it really doesn't make sense for smoke and for neon it might work, but I hope its not the same set of powers each game.

        Loading editor
    • Well I think technically they have. The Smoke scatterblast is pretty much a shockwave. Pushes enemies away, knocks them out. Except it doubles as a shotgun with high damage but short range. Haven't seen the Neon equivalent yet, if it even has one.

    • Personally I think holding the bolt button (which obviously charges smoke bolts) might be how the precision type move is used for neon. Obviously it's just a guess but I can't see what function a zoom button would have for other powers if it's only used in neon. Just makes sense to me since both the shotgun like attack and the precision are the only bolt related advancements we've seen.

        Loading editor
    • That's a karmic upgrade actually. Good karma grants precision for subduing enemies easier. So it happens automatically basically. http://www.destructoid.com/preview-infamous-second-son-lights-up-the-sky-270408.phtml

Whether or not it's a Neon specific karmic upgrade...that has yet to be answered.

        Loading editor
    • I read that but I can't understand why if it only revolves around good karma it provides one hit executions as well.

        Loading editor
    • Oh that's because Sucker Punch focused on making the game "choice" friendly, so you can switch alignments whenever you want and not be penalized. Plus I imagine it highlights them so you know that it isn't the "good" thing, incase you're far away and can't see maybe.

        Loading editor
    • Ah right, I wonder if when you switch alignments you keep the perks you previously got or lose them. We've already seen that when zoomed the legs glow blue and the head red to let you know what's good and bad. I'm sticking with my theory for now though purely because we haven't seen any other advanced version of the neon bolt. Perhaps the effects of holding the bolt button will differ depending on karma?

        Loading editor
    • Oh actually. I think we might have seen the thing that happens when you hold it. 5:03 in this video , a blast-esque attack just like the shotgun. Since we haven't seen anything like the bolt shotgun, I'm pretty sure that's it.

That didn't seem like a shotgun at all it looks like some kind of dash, but it isn't smokes equivalent that was shown little bit earlier in the video maybe that was a charged dash maybe, because it wasn't really what I would call a blast, but you could be right.

Don't know if we've been over this before, but how do guys feel about the karma system its already set that it will be black or white with no in-between did you guys ever want Infamous to become more complex to make the struggle between the two more intense and ambiguous or do you think it fits the comic book hero just fine and the karma system basis should never change. Personally I think it fits, but complexity would  just enhance the experience and it would make you feel more like the character although I love the series it has flaws.

        Loading editor
    • I mean that I thought it was the equivalant because it's the only sorta wavey Neon attack. And it seems like it's really short range too, so there's that as well. I think Neon charge dashes are when you cannonball into enemies, and the Smoke one is the chokeslam. About the Karma system, I'm fine with it. The opportunity for complexity and gray choices is still there (the end choice for Infamous 2 is a good example) where neither choice is necessarily "right". I'd like more of those. As far as having a gray Karmic alignment, eh, doesn't matter. That's weird anyway, kill a civilian and them saving one to balance it out doesn't quite work out.

      @Guy farting I'll try that

      Anyway guys, thoughts.

I had play-station all stars game. Decent game and the glide button for Cole there was neatly placed. I think it should blend in easily with the smoke/neon thrusters. Still want a double jump though, maybe in one of his newer powers.

Watched fan-films of infamous, the ones that won money. Loved that second place one where Delsin crushes a can while at the same time doing the same to a DUP van filled with them. Quite cool.

And I think it would be pretty interesting if there are upgrades for certain powers to be max charged. Or you can overload yourself with power gaining a boost and new powers for a short bit.

      @ Beast

The karma system is a bit simple. Some people criticize it for not being thought provoking sometimes or you having to stay a karma.

Having played Deus Ex, Dishonored and Skyrim, I'll say I enjoyed being the good guy and the morality of each were well placed, (casting aside my want to strip everyone naked and steal everything they have) but there's no other game that lets you play like the hero or villain like infamous does.

Maybe there's something a bit deeper in this karmic system for Second son. Example, you try to be good and you unlock the strongest powers for good. Say in smoke you can channel then become untouchable, or a passive ability that your attacks curve around civilians not harming them at the cost of high karma, but you unlock that ability. However going suddenly evil would lock that karmic ability, then you'll be forced ot go full evil to unlock its strongest karmic abilities. Say your smoke bolts can make civilians explode if hit fast enough, or simply larger blast effect for all abilities.

Not sure. And asphalt powers seemed right,

        Loading editor
    • I like that, because it reinforces the idea that you don't need to be more or less powerful based on your Karma rank.

But, to me at least, the Karma ranks felt deeper if they did make you more or less powerful. I loved, and always will love, being the good guy. It's my personal inclination to always be the hero. And I liked the fact that because I was good, I didn't need the heaviest hitting, most powerful power in the game. But when you make the power level for each side equal, you lose that feeling of "I'm doing greater than Evil with less power".

To me, by evening the scales, the actual rank you choose is somewhat undermined, other than in the specified cutscenes, like the Fetch ones.

I was actually thinking of the set of powers there  for just being good or evil, or helps you stay good or evil. And that in order to use the really good powers, you don't have to buy em, really powerful moves. Say in the first level you get your base good powers, the second rank allows you to use your better powers, and the final allows you to unlock your more powerful attacks including karmic blasts

Hmm, how about ranking powers? Basically you unlock sets but to get their full bonuses you need to be a fully ranked character. Aka max hero or villain

Could be absorbed from graffiti, billboards, and the RED SATELLITES. i think the the power will be very low damage, however will stun the enemies for longest and can slow them down. Could also be a dash move where turns into a graffiti and can move across wall, STEALTHY POWER. Would also tie in well with Delsin being a grafitti artist. Also could look very good grafically because of the colours in paint and make sense on how to absorb and would be cool to have liquid powers.

The blast could be a paintball barrage type thing. The melee weapon is kinda hard though. Maybe paint summons like Sai from Naruto. Also paint could damage. Before Infamous: Second Son, I didn't think smoke could hurt some one the way bolts do.

    • I don't rember who I was having this conversation with though it was between me and someone on one of the earlier power threads and we were applying real world science to infamous and we said its not just smoke its also fire and the bolts are being hurled at you so between the heat, gas emissions, and force it would hurt armor would protect you but that doesn't make it 100% safe to set yourself on fire.

Neon is plasma so its basically very hot ionized gas focused into  bolts not sure really what to compare it to in real life, because this never happens but I imagine it wouldn't be very safe either.

My point is what power in InFamous hasn't been dangerous other than that one girl who could fly, but she wasn't very important anyway. If a power doesn't have any kind of danger to it I wouldn't think it fits in InFamous.

    • Yes choas that's a smoke rocket they've already showed those off a long time ago, but it was never in gameplay the first time it was shown was in a dev video in 2013 and a couple other short clips here and there.

That second pic looks like bad karma finisher once DUP soldier has surrendered.

    • Okay good. I thought it was, because I saw the rockets before, but they look so similar to that melee thing that I wasn't completely sure. So, has there been any footage (besides sony montages/commercials, like offscreen stuff) showing the face punch or uppercut? Maybe those are melee upgrades, since they couldn't seem to use them in the latest demo. And if so, I wonder how Neon melee upgrades work.

Agreed, maybe something with a little combo system worked. I noticed how streamlined the neon melee seemed. Attack once, another melee attack, then neon jump drop them.

        Loading editor
    • Upercut, face punch, and smoke choke(when Delsin blast smoke into DUO's face killing them) have only bee shown in trailers and screenshots so they are most likely upgrades there was the first gameplay video though where Delsin uses the smoke choke, but that build is pretty old.

Not sure how neon melee would get better either because its more a sword than whip no ideas there really other than increasing the range and it doesn't pierce so that's just adds more limitations.

    • Neon is obviously more "pew pew lasers!" than melee anyways.

      "Doesn't Pierce?" Hmmm..?

Personally I think neon melee might be for marking enemies to make them easier to hit from far away cause I noticed in the russian vid when he hit people it left a glowing streak on their bodies.

I can only see this working if it was a short range, wide area attack like a TK Blast, otherwise wouldn't it make bolts pretty redundant?

        Loading editor
    • Or it could be like a wave of a blast, that rides closer to the ground until it hits the target. But I agree, there needs to be a bit of variation in order to make it an interesting power to use.

On the note of powers, does anyone else think that we should break up the Powers page into Electrokinesis and move the moves to their respective pages? Also, we could move each individuals moves to their own pages. It just seems to make more sense with the new Smoke and Neon pages we've made.

What if the the waves got more spread out as the Sword got more powerful? So you can do wide area attacks and hit multiple enemies, but at a really short range.

And yeah, pages for individual powers seems like a good idea (like the Smoke Thrusters page), makes it easier to find specific information for different stuff without having to sift through everything else.

Think we should. But since there are more powers coming up maybe we could just mix it in one page. As in put all the known moves there and once we're sure we can just split it and copy the abilities to their pages while keeping the gameplay moves

Well the smoke thing is technically right I think. When he get's shot in the trailer a puff of Smoke comes out, as if he softened the blow by using his powers, but didn't negate the damage completely. I know, I was being sarcastic :p

        Loading editor
    • I know, I'm just saying, I'm just reflecting on the fact that this is like Videogame Logic: The Game. This one more so than others, because Cole's powers kinda made sense with the whole neuroelectricity thing, but Neon is just Neon and it's awesome.

        Loading editor
    • Well, If you think as Neon the Gas, than the Neon Dash makes no sense, but if you think Neon as the Light, than it makes more sense. If we had a traditional light base ability, SP may have difficulty balancing it out with the powersets. As you can tell, I think Neon is based around light than the gas. The sound effects and a link I provided in the Comments section in the Neon article backs this up.

Electricity made sense because cities need it to exist, not just because of neuroelectricity. I know SP said that different powersets open up other parts of Seattle, but how they are going to do that remains to be seen. Electricity needed to be restored to give Cole the energy necessary to beat factions in Empire City and New Marais.

        Loading editor
    • Maybe each part is locked by a boss you can only defeat once you have a certain power? It's a bit of a specific thing to work out theories for, so I won't really try. And what I meant by neuroelectricity is sort of the "usage" of his powers. The funneling of a bunch of citizens neuroelectricity to turn Cole into something that's sort of like a big battery. I mostly say that because I loved the explaination. I'm wondering how they're gonna explain storing more energy, since Delsin isn't a "normal" conduit. And yeah Neon is light, I love that. At first I thought that Neon blasts were weird, because "how could light hurt people", but once you realize that it's more like a concentrated laser beam it makes sense. The sword makes a lot more sense that way too, it's a big laserbeam attached to a chain (it's a lightsaber in pretty much every sense of the word). Not sure how they'll explain the neon stasis bombs, maybe it stems from your light dash? Sort of like embuing neon grenades with your ability to float, or something like that.

        Loading editor
    • Like you said, light can hurt people by concentrating into a laser. But I also think he is making "Hard Light" ala Green Lantern, forming the light into a tangible object. Except he is more of a Pink and Purple Lantern than a Green Lantern.

BTW, some guys at MIT made actual "hard light"

    • Huh, that's pretty awesome. Did they ever explain why his Neon thrusters make that little force field at the bottom? It seems cosmetic, but I could totally see it being the perk to offset the fact that it's weaker than the Smoke thrusters. I was also thinking, if we're gonna get concrete, what would the thruster equivalent be? Maybe his teleport/dash move is borrowing underground and then coming back up, and his thrusters are something similar to the ice launch? There's some pretty cool possibilities as far as that goes.

        Loading editor
    • Man, I hope that concrete does NOT have thrusters. If we get that rock ledge that DUP Kinights use in the E3 trailer than I am fine with that!

EDIT: Burrowing underground is a cool idea. I can get behind that!

        Loading editor
    • Maybe an automatic rock ledge when dashing into a wall, and thrusters are the launch. And you could combine the two, so you launch from building wall ledge to building wall ledge and you don't have to touch the roof. That'd be really cool.

I know I am adamant, but how can people say that Neon is depicted as a gas in the game is beyond me. It's true, Delsin is using neon in it's discharged or "light" state. However neon is classified as a gas, or a Noble Gas to be precise, under the Periodic Table of Elements. In short it's not like we are in denial or anything, we just call it a gas as a matter of being scientifically correct here.

      Back on Topic

I wonder how likely Delsin will get electrokinesis as one of his powers? Also, what if one of Delsin's powers that he gets involves clouds or something? I only suggest this because of the amount of condensation that Seatle goes through due to the rain. In all honnesty I don't know if would be a ballanced power to put in the game when you factor in where the energy source would be. Plus I'm not sure how Delsin's melee attack would be like since the his chain channels his powers.

    • Journalists said that they didn't see any electrical wires in the game so I think it is unlikely. However, I can't say anything with absolute certainty until the game comes out.

Smoke kind of uses clouds in the grenade attack. I think it's an upgrade for evil karma, it covers enemies in clouds of smoke.

Sadly there won't be rain / water powers in the game, as Nate Fox stated that they tried to stay away from elemental powers. Besides, as you said, I can't think of any source aside from puddles. A cool melee would be an extended water whip that deals low damage but hits in a big area.

@Ccnitro Yeah people are doing that a lot. I'm not sure why. Maybe they don't know it'll slam, maybe it's a reflex? It just seems pretty common for people to freak out and do that. That reminds me actually, I hope Neon has a dash melee. If you watch the E3 gameplay, if Delsin Smoke dashes and melees at the same time, he'll do a cartwheel type thing and hit people with the chain as he rematerializes.

Evil neom dash is faster don't think its more chaotic it was just because a kid was playing and everyone who plays it for the first time sucks.

Apparently I was wrong about that it couldn't pierce anything, but not surprised I was wrong anyway. I can tell evil karma will be somewhat different, but this video never really sold to me that it will be a drastic change even if it was a 2 minute video and this was early in-game I'm not feeling any strong changes will happen like I'm just waiting for that one thing that's like Hot Damn that's cool I need to go bad karma.

    • I doubt we'll get any of those cooler karmic upgrades and stuff that you want to see to convince you before launch. It'll most likely happen later in the game, especially since this seems earlier in the game to begin with. I doubt they'd want to show it even if they could, considering how tight lipped they've been this whole time.

    • Watching the gameplay video I noticed that when you enter a new area the HUD tells you the percentage of control the DUP has of that zone. Presumably we'll have to fight the DUP multiple times to lower it.

Yeah I know I just really want more.

      @Italian guy

Yeah we saw that in this Russian video that came out like a week ago, but I didn't notice that in this one, too busy looking at the neon.

Also am I the only one that doesn't like the look of  that bat on the bottom left it feels like its out of place like some random art  I hope that isn't the bar that tells you how much of a resource you have left it just looks  like they got lazy and just went with a bar instead of the blast cores in past games.

    • Could be a placeholder. Maybe it isn't though, but this does look like the same build from the press event on Feb. 12th, so it could still be a placeholder. I don't have any ideas on what to put there, especially since it fits the whole graffiti theme, so the meter is fine by me. I just wish they would move it so it fits in one of the corners, it just seems to float there.

        Loading editor
    • I noticed it too, but I wondered if they had put on the "golden game" for that event or if it was the same one from the 12th Chaos mentioned. I'm sure (and hoping) that they'll replace or adjust it before the release.

    • Oooops I didn't notice that the UI changed  I was still thinking about the older builds  this new one looks better, but why is it purple, blue, and green for evil karma it should be red, pink, and orange. It should be moved beside the karma bird and be made slimmer vertically and be less linear to get rid of the bar like apperance other wise the colors are nice.

How is the bird going to change by karma rank like how would InFamous be different than hero or villian it gets bigger maybe.

Also for Delsin I'm sure they can change the beanie, chain, and tattoos for appearance I thought about facial piercing, but I don't want them making him into a extreme punk rock/emo/goth.

    • I almost forgot something: in the Neon reveal trailer at 0:37 - 0:43 Delsin wears different clothing. Do you guys think it's karma-specific? Or maybe they decided to add customization?

If you pay attention to Delsin and HUD during gameplay, the bird at the top switches positions and matches the back of his jacket, depending on the Karma. (all of the following screen caps are from this video)

Interestingly enough, during that specific cutscene after the player decides which Karma they want, before the starting the mission, Delsin's jacket is Neutral.

      • Evil Cutscene
      • (Couldn't find a good view of his jacket during the Good Karma cutscene)

Some other minor HUD stuff (from this):

      • Finally occurred to me that this is probably the prompt to use the Touchpad.

Sucker Punch have actually said that they aren't gonna make Delsin look like a zombie like they did with Cole. They said they wanna make cosmetic Karma changes more realistic, so he won't look all sickly or anything.

I know I am adamant, but how can people say that Neon is depicted as a gas in the game is beyond me. Sound effects have lightsaber-like for melee, sci fi laser blasts for the ranged attack, super-speed, and the fact that the Karma Bomb is called the Radiant Sweep! Radiant being the key word. I left a link to a interview in the Neon section that blatantly states that Neon is light. How much proof do you guys need?

Phew, and I thought COB's dendrophilia was bad. But, hey, SP, let the man have his plant powers. :D

GLORY TO THE PLANTS AND YUUKA! Ehem, back to topic

I really don't think there's a way for Delsin to look like a zombie. I mean the most evil he can be I think would be punkish, kinda like remade Dante. As good... well honestly I don't know how he can turn good interms of appearance. Lose the jacket maybe? The beanie is too much of a signature to lose

But I'm really hoping his personality and reaction to attacking people or doing objectives would change. Something little, but would be nice.

Also, love the stealth execution and all. But is there a way for someone to sneak in stealthilty while being good? Regardless I love it.

And in terms of the 'sexual' things, well I'm interested on seeing Infamous moved to rated M. Interested at least. They have the ability to do it right, handle things in a good way. At least. Maybe I'll get a game where I can marry a main character to a chosen supporting character.

      Just kidding.

    • I'm actually glad they aren't making him look zombish. The pale cole with the black veins and stuff is cool, but it's nice to see something different. And from what I've been reading, he still has the same "base" personality, when he's evil or good (wise cracking, stuff like that) but yeah I'm really interested to see the juxaposition in dialogue when you choose a different Karma mission.

I believe him and with the info I read above there, well SS might be really shielding its beautiful body that we'll love once we get to unwrap.

Also, still reside with Delsin changing his entire body composition to accomodate a selected energy, whether be it gas(smoke) or light (neon).

Loving all the news, but I just want more, that 1 month delay had better be worth it if I had it already I would have beat it like six times no sleep, no food, no life only inFamous all hail SP.

No, but seriously the wait is just getting worse. I agree he can't get look that much more evil I guess and of they show us anything I want to see the finished UI .

    • I was kind of bummed by that at first, because I feel like they had the chance to go in a different direction (a better one, not that I'm saying the other one was bad. I'm just gonna stop explaining now) to accommodate the new console. But now that I really have had time to think about it, I don't want it to move away from the great thing they had going with the first two games.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah I was thinking of this one story or game where I felt inFamous should have took after. After making your first descion the games starts going in a completely different direction and depending on what karma you choose at a certain point. The story will take a certain direction, but the story always ends up at the same place, yet the story, character personalities and fates change. You can change karma at any point and in doing so you change the story a little bit this allows for multiple endings beyond black and white, but the story should never be the same just similar.

Like what if Cole started working with Bertrand after a mission where he ask you to join him and Kuo, Nix, Zeke, and militia(after learning about bertrands plan)  together formed a force against Cole and in the end there's a giant fight between Behemoth(Cole riding on his back) and Beast.

Not the best idea this is off the top of my head, but basically this was there chance to build a game with complex  choices and they were like lets make it pretty first and finalize the karma system 5 months before release. Wow I think that might be my longest post.

To be honest, I wouldn't expect that from any game dev. The resources and money that would be put into something so optional thing are astronomic. I'm not even talking about Sucker Punch at this point to be honest, I'm talking about games in general. A good example is Heavy Rain, which has many different endings. But if you play through the game multiple times, you see the joints and stitches where the endings split off from the main story. It sort of ruins the replayability because it ruins the illusion of choice that you had in your first playthrough. I also don't like that game anyway. Walking Dead/TWAU is a good counterargument. The devs spend so much time on character dialogue and optional interactions that ultimately whatever you do will end up being the same as everyone elses, but it feels different because of the dialogue and interactions. At least a game like Infamous I know I can get a solid two playthroughs that are completely different, without ruining an illusion of choice, which I think it's Sucker Punch's main focus.

1.) Evil Neon does not have Slow-Mo when aiming, so it's definitely a Karma upgrade for Good guys that being said, Evil Neon is definitely faster than Good Neon, so that's the Evil upgrade

2.) Last thing, those pictures of Delsin hitting people in the face with his non-chain hand are the Smoke subdue, he knocks them down then covers them in black smoke.

He does: it's kicking enemies while they're down. It launches them in the air and they disintegrate into smoke [particles]. We've seen this in the February gameplay, but we've never seen the whole process of disintegrating (or "Obliterating", as it's called), as the player has always went somewhere else [in the game] before we see it happening.

How it's done while the enemy is still standing/stealthily, I don't know. He probably trips them the the chain - like with Neon-, but instead of stabbing them, he proceeds to kick them.

Still against sound, but it would be nice if those dishes where ther for than the aesthetics or for collectables and with all that flashing and considering there abundance they certainly do draw an intrest to the eye and are part of the urbanlandscape and there are all kinds of waves. Same for plants.

Paper could be I'm there just so they can shock us and be like you didn't even think for a second this would be dangerous huh.

I want poison to be in there, but to really capture the essence of posion powers a T-game rating isn't going to cut it if they can't do melting flesh you could argue smoke doesn't have that affect either, yet fire powers aren't as directly connected to melting like poison is. Also look how they cut the corners with obliterating for smoke and neon to make it more PG it looks awesome just saying.

A little to close to the game release to talk about powers this will probably be my last time bringing it up I'm ready to sit back and enjoy the action myself only 15 days. I've waited over a year I think I can wait two weeks.

    • Why do people think paper and plants are going to be in the game?

Reason#1: Paper was showcase in the brochure from the enjoyyourpower.com website

Rebuttal: SP also stated the other powers were going to remain secret for players to be surprised when they play the game. Why show off your playing cards?

Reason#2: Plants are all over the place in the screenshots.

Rebuttal: Electricity was all over the place in the previous games, but that was Cole's ONLY power. If you take a good look at the mini map in the recent russian gameplay, you see little brown and purple blips on the map, but there are few and far between. SP also stated that there were going for powers that are rare or haven't been done too many times in fiction.

    • Pariah about the paper what you said was true I kinda jumped on the bandwagon with that one alittle bit, but I only said it COULD be a power the powers I listed in the first sentence are the ones I think will be absolute paper to me sounds very unlikely, but since it got put out there on the pamphlet I said hmmm that kinda might sorta happen possibly.

Although plants I'm serious about not just because they are abundant it is very rare to see plants be used as an offensive power. Also playing into your rebuttal a little bit and contradicting myself a little there's so many of them I'm meann everywhere so why not do I really think plants can become a offensive power not really I just would realy like it to be in there to see some kind of creativity and change in gameplay even if plants might be to drastic of a change I feel like it could happen.

I jumped the gun here a bit, especially considering I don't mind plant or paper powers just as long as they have a different playstyle. I already stopped ripping on COB about it too.

The pamphlet powers just don't seem likely to me for the reason that SP already stated that anybody who wants to see the other powers must play the game (or watch it on Youtube <_<). Plant powers don't seem likely because it is still a traditional ability and it is not an urban element.

    • You guys ready for all the livestreams tomorrow?

    • Maybe we might get a plant power offset, like smoke to fire. Leaves or wood. Also, plant life seems pretty common in Seattle, with the urbanization. Still really hoping the water thing was only for the demo.

    • I won't be able to see it live(bummer), but I will see it. Part of me saying no to avoid spoilers, but the other part is saying "Who cares about spoilers! I have to see it!"

    • Can't watch any livestreams tomorrow, sucks to be me. Only if someone can record the livestream.

Anyway haha Pariah, I still reside with plant powers. Just not as much. Right now I'm thinking about kinetic damage like in the Chronicle movie. The one ALSO based on Seattle. I seriuosly think SP will make some sort of power reference to that Andrew Detmer guy
