Vampires were creatures of the night who lived by feeding on blood. They were known to have stormed New Marais and turned the Conduit, Cole MacGrath, into a vampire as well. The UGC Missions created by Sucker Punch refer to them as "Blood Conduits" suggesting that in the InFamous universe Vampires are a kind of Conduit which functions similar to Bertrand's Conduit powers in the sense it can infect others.
The blood of a Conduit was capable of resurrecting vampires, as proven by Cole's forced participation in one of their ceremonies. To what degree, is so far unknown.
After Mary's resurrection packs of Vampires ranging from as small as 2 to as large as 6 can be seen roaming the streets, hunting for prey. When encountered they almost always have at least one hostage that they will attempt to use as a shield, though they will eventually turn the hostage into an ally if Cole takes to long. There are three distinct types of Vampire. The first wears a red suit and fights with a cross bow that fires three bolts at a time, and the second is shirtless and carries a pair of bladed boomerang like weapons. The third type is given a proper name, the Harpies. They are women wearing revealing red jackets who are able to defy gravity to an extent and walk on walls and hang upside down from ledges, and they fight with dual Uzis.
Civilians turned will look identical to normal civillians, with the exception of nearly white skin. Turned civillians can latch onto Cole and bite at him, prompting a quick time event to knock them off.
First Borns are craftier, hiding in the guise of a human until attacked, after which they mutate into their vampiric forms and attack. When disguised however they can be easily dispatched if Cole can find and stake them.
Defeating 10 packs results in a power upgrade, with 20 earning a trophy.
They also warn other Vampires of Cole's attacks, such as when he throws a Grenade, they scream out phrases like "Grenade!" or "Move away!".
